STOMP WORKSHOPS

STOMP offers workshops to educational establishments and organisations. Our workshops can incorporate key stage 1 and above and can take up to 30 participants per session. The sessions can run from a single hour taster to a weeklong performance orientated residency. Individual sessions are tailored to the group in question, and incorporate the needs of key stage learning, covering areas such as music, movement, numeracy, physical education, design and communication skills.

The STOMP workshop consists of one or two “Stompers” for a full day and all the props and instruments required.

KS 1: Warm up games, discovering sounds, repetition, call & response. Counting, co-ordination, shapes and movement.

KS 2: Warm up games, tempo, dynamics, progressive counting systems. Devising & composing rhythms for solo & group work.

KS3/4: Exploring physicality, co-ordination, and dexterity. Syncopation, sequencing, time signatures. Combining rhythm and movement.

16+ Improvisation, composition and complexity of rhythm. Ensemble work, physical & spatial awareness and performance skills.

The experience begins with the basic building blocks of rhythm and invites the participants to explore performance and music using everyday objects as well as developing teamwork, listening and performing skills and physical co-ordination. Participation can be as simple or complex as the students’ abilities allow.

No previous experience of either music or dance is necessary; our only request is that participants wear comfortable loose clothing and sturdy footwear (no flip flops or high heels). This is a totally interactive process not a performance by the “Stompers”



Workshops are divided into the following categories:

Primary Learning KS1, Recommended session time, 40-60mins per group of 30. Max of 5 sessions per day £600 + VAT

Primary Learning KS2, Recommended session time, 60mins per group of 30. Max of 5 sessions per day £625 + VAT

Secondary Development, Recommended session time, 90mins per group of 30

KS 3/4 Max of 4 sessions per day £650 + VAT

Further Education 16+, Recommended session time, one day per group of 30 £700+VAT

Workshop costs are based on a daily rate, it is not possible for us to offer half days. Session times are adjustable but this may compromise the content of the workshops.
